This is where all the character's "hard copy" profiles will go. They may set up actual profiles in the system but this is sort of my summary of all of them. Their versions of themselves may differ. If they have a profile set up, then their link is here. If you wish to make a profile which you can use when commenting on the various blogs, click here.
All characters are entirely fictitious and copyrighted to their owners. With the exception of Sister Bubbles and the Princess they are really all my creations. Friends who were Louis L'Amour fans hanged the Logan Sackett moniker on me but the character here is not in any way connected with the greatest western writer that ever took up pen. Only the name and the attitude are the same. Most of the important characters I have created from 1975 to date are here. There are a couple more somewhere and possibly, well, okay, likely, more to come.
Animal O'Malley
Pirate Captain - Former Bandit
Nucleus Profile | Nucleus Blog
If he is your friend, he is fiercely loyal, giving and forgiving. Extraordinarily selfish and self-centered, his redeeming quality is that if you satisfy his selfishness, he will do ANY thing to satisfy yours as well. His problem with that is that without thinking he will try to satisfy you in terms he can relate to and understand, not thinking you may have some different idea. He can be mean and self-aggrandizing without even realizing it and being a pirate he is also an opportunist without peer. Some have said he is a type of shapeshifter and becomes whatever animal fits the spirit of his mood at the moment. Could be.
Bear Deville
Knight Errant - aka - Sir Bear Deville, Knight of the Order of Ursis Majoris
Nucleus Profile | Nucleus Blog
A werebear. The first of Logan's aliases, tainted and jaded but honorable. Often conflicted between what he knows to be right and what he wants to do and what would be right for him. In other words he may wish to exhibit very bad behavior, but can't. Even though he is pretty much on the moral high ground, he is often there out of duty or obligation. Fiercely loyal to any and all to whom he has sworn fealty. Friend and defender of Princess Valentina Del Colorado, who knighted him.
Bloopie Freen
Bright blue soap bubble from another planet
Nucleus Profile
I was inspired in the mid-seventies by a poet from the 20's named Don Marquis who had a character named Archy the Cockroach who would leap on the typewriter keys and leave messages with no punctuation or capitalization who referred to him as "The Boss." That's about where the similarity between the characters ends. Marquis was a clever poet and a sort-of hero, though not in the same class of hero to me as Poe or Shakespeare or even Ogden Nash. Bloopie Freen is a thinker and prankster.
Lady Fernley
She has a scandalous reputation only because nobody knows who she is or anything about her. She is unfairly characterized as ready and willing to do anything with anyone, but she is actually of high moral fiber. Giving and loving to her friends and completely passionate about anything she does or any cause she embraces, if Animal wanted food she would try to learn every recipe in the world until he was over 500 pounds and had to hoisted by a boom onto the deck of his ship. She would not let that happen, but it exemplifies the passion she employs for any thing she sets her mind to do, unless someone else besides her might get hurt. She is a far better person than anyone thinks but it is unknown if she is real or not. Animal vehemently declares her existence while Bear scoffs at his need to make up someone to be his friend and confidante. Bubbles and Princess Val politely decline comment. Lady Fernley is definitely misunderstood no matter what; she is not so opprobrious or scurrilous as some think. Unless you want a sword fight, when discussing the subject with Animal be sure to avoid any reference to ANY rumor about her as he violently declares her innocence.
Logan Sackett
Name is the same as an outlaw in several western books by Louis L'Amour. A bad man but not a bad guy. He's "done some things." The main alter-ego and evil twin that started the whole thing. Evil enough but not so evil. Besides, I can never remember if I'm the good twin or the bad twin.
Logan's Theme Song (45 second clip of Have Gun, Will Travel theme):
Monika
Logan's twin sister. Technically his alter-ego's twin sister. She was created for a specific purpose and I keep her alive because she is an excellent foil or counter-foil. Besides, she is the first female character I ever made up completely from scratch.
Nucleus Profile | Nucleus Blog Friend and aide-de-camp to Captain O'Malley. No pot of gold but he can appear invisible. The further away he goes from the Emerald Isle, the less he remembers about it and the harder he has to work to make his meager powers work.
Princess Valentina Del Colorado
She is the beloved ruler of a kind of misty, mystical magical place whose followers, admirers and worshippers adore her because she is not mean to nor judgmental of them and is always willing to lend a compassionate ear to anybody. Loyalty and confidentiality, two traits I demand in my few friends, are her hallmarks. She knighted Bear Deville and allows him and Animal to be her friends and protectors. Captain O'Malley will not accept knighthood and for a long time was constantly at odds with Bear, but they unite in defense of Her Majesty.
Sister Bubbles
No relation to Bloopie Freen. Just a bubbly person who is friend to all. Sort of like how Logan is to me, that is how she is with the princess. Smiles constantly, whether she feels like it or not. Tries to maintain a positive, "bubbly" outlook no matter what.
YOU
Female. (How I could have forgotten one of the most important and influential [and troublecausing] characters from Animal's original blog is beyond me.)
“YOU” is a conglomerate of fantasy women created using bits and pieces of all the women I know. “YOU” is different from Lady Fernley because “YOU” is more generalized and is not an alter-ego or twin or doppelganger of anyone but is more every woman than anyone in particular. E.g., while the Good Lady Fernley is somewhat generic, you can trace where she came from, not so with YOU. YOU refers to any female of any specifications (I believe there are no ugly women, some are just more beautiful. Beauty is an internal quality that exudes to the outer through filters.) Who reads me and wishes, whether they would ever act on it or not, that “YOU” was really them and that someone would burn with such a passion for them. This disturbed someone when Animal had his own blog elsewhere because they were sure they had figured out who “YOU” was, even though I tried to explain that because it was an amalgam of several women, “YOU” will definitely seem familiar from time to time. If you read some of the fantasies addressed to “YOU” I hope that you will feel as though I do mean you, at least for a few moments of time and will be pleased and enjoy the fact that someone would want you as badly as I want YOU.
